We are an Accredited practice. Our sterilsation equipment, policies and procedures adhere to current Australian Dental Association & NSQHS standards.
We are one of the first dental clinics used to trial Accreditation of dental practices in NSW (since 2013).
SAS Dentalalso has Practice Manager Sue Shouha, who with over twenty years’ experience at Westmead Centre for Oral Health, maintains a very high standard in universal precautions/infection control.
Do We Reuse Our Instruments?
- The average dentist spends well over $30 to prepare a dental chair between patients with much of this spent on disposables.
- We only reuse instruments that are Autoclavable.
- When we do, they must first be decontaminated in an ultrasonic bath and then rinsed, dried and sealed in special wraps before sterilizing in an Autoclave.
- In the autoclave, instruments are heated to a temp of 135 degrees celcius at high pressure. This kills all possible Microorganisms.
